About J Dickinson & Sons
Founded back in 1939 by John Dickinson, J Dickinson & Sons started from humble beginnings offering haulage services to Bolton and surrounding areas via, horse and cart as a newly established family business.
Today, four generations later and with over 70 employees, we operate by the same values, ethics and beliefs from our 17-acre state of the art recycling village based at Rivington View Business Park, Horwich.
Having advanced from horse and cart to skips and bins, we have grown from strength to strength; acquiring what is now a large fleet of vehicles, equipment and units at our disposal. This has allowed us to offer a wide range of services including skips, direct tipping, aggregates, transport services and commercial bin collection service.
As an outward-facing company steeped in heritage, we have the ability to assist businesses and individuals with the disposal of waste and materials appropriately through our collection service and recycling facilities.
At J Dickinson & Sons, we continue to invest in our dedicated staff, accreditations and the latest technology to ensure that we can continue to provide the best possible experience and support for all our customers.Enquire today

In February our New £4.2 Million state of the art recycling plant started to operate at site. The new plant will allow the business to process and separate even more recyclable waste, all in our aim for 0% to landfill. The new plant has allowed us to increase staffing in a number of areas of the business, so the investment has not just been to help the business is has also helped within the community to create 16 new jobs.
