Waste Paper and Cardboard Recycling

It is important to distinguish between paper and cardboard recycling and general waste. Failing to separate the two categories can cause damage to the environment and a contaminated batch of recycling materials can end up at the landfill; a problem that we are desperately trying to combat.

Fun fact: Making new paper from recycled paper uses 70% less energy than making paper from pulp.

There are different types of paper and cardboard waste:

  • Newspapers, magazines.
  • White paper.
  • Brown paper.
  • Envelopes.
  • Wrapping paper (non-shiny).
  • Cardboard e.g. cereal boxes, packaging.
